General Roxas Elementary School welcomed DZMM-TLC (Teaching, Learning, and Caring) for their fifth community outreach activity in collaboration with Teach for the Philippines on October 25, 2013. DZMM-TLC, the public service arm of DZMM TeleRadyo, is one of our partners this school year and has been visiting our partner schools and their respective communities every last Friday of the month.
Members of the General Roxas Elementary School community began entering the campus as early as 7:30 AM for the medical, dental and optical missions held at the school’s covered court. A mobile dermatological clinic was also set up for those who wanted free skin consultation. A mobile library was also parked beside the covered court where the students could go in and read books throughout the morning.
Umagang Kay Ganda host and DZMM on-air personality Winnie Cordero was present at the event to conduct a read-along with a class of Grade 2 students. DHL Express, another one of our partners, was present to support this event and was represented by their Marketing Manager Hope Atienza, DHL Global Multichannel and National Sales Manager Neil Cabreira and DHL Makati Service Center Manager Ronald Benebe. All three of them gamely read the story, “Bakit Matagal ang Sundo Ko?” to the classes of Teachers Ada, Mary, and Christine.
